
They will be assessed on their playing ability, their rhythm, dynamics and their attitude towards music as a group.ĭuring the first week of the lesson the score of the arrangement will be given. They will be assessed according to all the criteria mentioned in the marking list through their performance. They will need to understand the role and importance of the other instruments to make the piece being played properly.
The first task is the performance with full ensemble of the whole class, where students will show their capability of playing an instrument and working together as a team and part of the ensemble. There will be two assessments for this entire task and lessons upto 1 or 2 weeks. Prior knowledge to play this arrangement is knowledge of the basic music theory: time signature, key signature, triplets, rhythm, notations, chord pattern etc. Sites to distribute the resources are Dropbox: ( ) and WordPress which contains the written document, pdf of the score, the audio tracks of the song and of each instrument and also the midi clips of the song. The softwares used to prepare the resources are Ableton live and Sibelius. The instruments / sounds used : Timpani drums, side drum/ percussion, snare drum, glockenspiel, flute, harp, trumpet.
